My Sons (13) Battle with Cancer
On December 5, 2018, my son went to the hospital for a headache. What we didn’t know is that the headache was caused because of a tumour in his brain. Since then he has had 2 brain surgeries and has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Pineoblastoma (Brain Cancer). Little did we know that on that […]
Looking forward to the rest of the year
With the price of oil the way it is now, there is no shortage of houses being built. It is going to be a good fall weather-wise(I hope) and a lot of work is going to be had. Timing is everything in the construction trade so please do not wait last minute to look for […]
Day 10 on Polycore house after #yycflood
Well, all I can say is WOW. What an up and down few days we had in Calgary and for that matter Alberta. We had some mudslides in Canmore, flooding in Calgary, High River, Medicine Hat as well as other communities along the Bow river. On Saturday and Sunday we managed, after 3 days […]
Day 9 at Rocky Ridge NetZero house
Hard to believe that after we built and stood the east and west walls that rain was on its way. Here is hoping that it holds off so we can keep this project moving at a steady pace
Net Zero House in Northwest Calgary (Day 8)
We straightened the walls and started to install floor trusses. I am so glad we did not have to lift them up. Thank you once again Zytech for helping us with lifting them up onto the floor.Working with open web trusses are so nice. It all went together real well. Mission accomplished!!!
Net Zero Home in Calgary (Day 6)
Here are the front taller walls built for the garage and the front entry.
Polycore House in RockyRidge NW Calgary (Day 5)
The lumber package arrived and we asked if they could put the floor trusses on the garage walls for us. Guess what? They did. It will sure help out the morale knowing that we don’t need to lift the 28′-0″ long trusses up onto the upper walls. Thank you Zytech.
Polycore, double 2×4 walls (Day 3)
We managed to get some more walls up today. As you can see in the background, more rain is on the way.
